The First Step Recently, we presented the inVISION Top Innovations 2020 (www.invision-news.com/top-innovations), ten innovative solutions from the fields of Machine Vision and 3D Metrology. Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a role in three of the ten winners, a topic that is also an integral part of machine vision and metrology. In addition to new algorithms for more effective image analysis, AI also helps to make future systems much easier to use. Thus, it is possible to store the necessary expert knowledge in appropriate algorithms, so that even beginners dare to approach image processing.

Kind regards
Dr.-Ing. Peter Ebert, Chief Editor inVISION
