Data management Data management will increasingly affect machine vision in the future. It is no longer 'only' about taking pictures. Increasingly, these are already being evaluated on an embedded system (e.g. a smart camera) and only the result is transmitted, so that the extensive image data does not block all communication paths of an Industry 4.0. There are also numerous industry associations, such as the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance, in which 40 different companies such as SAP, Beckhoff, Kuka, Endress+Hauser, Balluff, etc. have joined forces to regulate the topic of data management. This week members of the OPC UA working groups will also meet at the VDMA to report on their progress. Machine vision and robotics already play a very important role there.

Kind regards
