From the User's Point of View In process automation there is Namur, an international association with over 160 user companies from the process industry. These define in so-called Namur recommendations how automation technology should look from the user's point of view. Why doesn't such a user association exist for image processing or measurement technology? Henry Ford once said that if he had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses rather than cars. But the possibility of finding out in advance what the users really want through an association would certainly be valuable for the manufacturers. Namur has numerous working groups in which both sides work together on projects right from the start, thus increasing the chance of products and systems that the customer wants to use immediately.

Kind regards
